Below is a pic of my ZJ, yea I know its not to good but it is what it is. I was pulled over this weeking on my way back from Moab EJS to Salt Lake City and got the usual "Tires are to wide, put fender flares on it or next time you'll get a ticket" routine (thank goodness the wife was driving and had a titty shirt on). All the fender flares I can find are goofy but I think all are that way.

Does any one have pics for their zj or links with info for flares with the same Ford axles (HP D44 & Ford 9") with 35 x 12.50's that cover the tire enough to be compliant with the local FUZZ? The way the Jeep is now with the tires it has, the tires stick out a good 4" and according to the UHP guy that pulled my wife over the tires can only stick out 1-2" at the most.

While in Moab I ran into the guys from Iceland Offroad http://www.icelandoffroad.com/ they have some decent looking and pretty functional fender flares that might work, I have requested info from them and have not heard back yet so i'll report back once I talk to them. I saw the Green ZJ they have on their websight and they had 37" tires with the flares and seem to have some great clearance which is also an issue with me as i'm cutting up my tires with the way my fenders are now.

    Any thoughts / advice?

this along with the icelandic offroad flares is by far the best choice for zj flares

The iceland offroad flares are real nice, but are very pricey too.

The custome app flare's look like something I could use as lawn edging if I didn't use it all. According to Icelandoffroad the flair's extend out about 2" which is about 1/2 inch off, I didn't have time to mess with the jeep last night to get some exact measurements but i'll report back when available.

I picked up a set of KJ (Liberty) flairs off ebayt and did a cut and mount install. The KJ flairs have a spot already for the cladding on the side of a ZJ so the front were a piece of cake. The rears were a little more work for dang sure. Hope this helps. Later..Clint

I like them the best to. But I think you have to have some serious meat under there to look right. You have to fill them out.

Man, taken out of context, that could sound weird...

How can you say there price, $395 plus shipping, I'd say is a great price seeing as XJ BW are over $500 and you still have to make them work. I'm plaining the Icelandoffroad for my build............

Much appreciated on the input however from what I can tell everyone is running a different axle setup than I am. Any input or pics for a HP d44 and ford 9" or simmilar axles with the Icelandoffroad flairs?

It seems to me that the icelandoffroad flares aren't nearly as wide as the XJ bw's. Mine just cover my tires & I'm running ram charger 15x7 wheels that most likely have around 5" of back spacing. I guess with a narrower tire it wouldn't be an issue, but typically anything 35" + is at least 12.5" wide... <idunno>

I thought at one point they were a lot more than that, I didn't realize they were only ~$400.

on the topic of flares, not exactly what you are looking for...but a good example of what's ugly (at least IMO)

here are TJ Sahara flares. setup is HP30/currie 9", with 1.25" adapters, making the front 62.5 and the rear 64.5. wheels are 15x8 with 3.75" bs, tires are 35x13.5

I hate them, but for 25 bucks it was worth it to keep the Fuzz off my back. I will be replacing them in the next year or so but i'm not sure with what, maybe nothing once i have a tow-rig/trailer

Well i'm probably going to go with the Iceland offroad ones, they give the most clearance from what I can tell and that is one thing i'm lacking at the moment and I would like to be as compliant as possible when the money factor allows for as I just had gears and arb's installed

That and to help hide nasty lines where you cut your fenders up.

I agree with you, I was just doing the whole "nothing nice to say so don't say shit" deal. Drunk much though, damn!

But since they're required by law to have it, I guess they don't really have a choice.
