Got a few things on the agenda for thanksgiving break.
1.) need new passenger side hub
2.) install new 3/8" skid and crossmember:
3.) Trim some sheet metal
4.) more research on the D300 swap.

Skid looks good.
Keep me posted on the D300 I might be down for that also.
This has been done for awhile but just now getting around to uploading pics. This skid plate uses a 3/8" plate (almost twice as thick as 1/4" ) and bolts to the stock tranny crossmember and a rear crossmember. The rear crossmember is just box metal with angle iron that attaches to the frame rails via 12 sheet metal screws. The way its angled outward onto the frame the crossmember should spread the force out over the entire area of the framerails. Also the plate has angled up ends so it won't get caught on anything. My favorite feature is that it uses countersunk hex bolts to attach to the front and rear crossmembers because last time I went out i ripped off my stock t-case skid because the long ass bolts that were hanging off of it. Anyway, here are some pics!
the wiring for your neons is messed up.....
as you can see its been doing nothing but raining here lately. soon as it dries up I'll hook up those flashing pink neons!
Nice...although it looks like the rear crossmember could fit more flush where it bolts to the unibody.
when you put bolts into the uniframe like that, where do the bolts thread into? do you weld a nut inside or something?
You use self tapping screws.
Just got back from tellico and wow what a trip. Me and Cam and a few other guys met up there Tuesday and wheeled for a few days in rain, sleet, hail, and 20 degree wind. Along with saving a guys life on a 4wheeler we all made it up slickrock in the middle of a hail storm. Pretty frickin hardcore. I wasted my radiator support and a rear tail light but nothing bad. I have about 80 pics but these are all i have online so far. Stay tuned.

Nice.
Very nice man!
Looks nice, but what happened to yur avatar?
not so sure sheetmetal screws and skidplate should be used in the same sentence...
for that matter, neither do unibody and 'wheelin.
those little 33's made elliot gave that skid a beating up there on slickrock...
I can't talk to much shit, I was pullin cable after a near roll, and I'm double locked with siped 38's. (Thats my white FJ40 in that pic) He made it up in the dark with one less locker...
Good times man.
Your Jeep did really well Elliott. The body damage comes with the territory, especially with stock trackwidth. Too bad it took us 7 hours to get up it once with all the sleet, gas siphoning, and hypothermic old morons on 4 wheelers..
Bailey, it's pretty typical to see all the jeeps make it up an obstacle under their own power when the toyotas can't
Elliott really did make slickrock in the pouring rain with no cable and only one locker. Pretty impressive.. Stay tuned for more pics and video in the Trip Reports section.
Its so hard for you to believe you have to keep convincing yourself...Originally Posted by ATL ZJ

BTW i washed the jeep today and there is absolutely NO paint left on my sliders. Also I found a few more deep dents and paint gashes... I'm a puss so I'll probably try to buff some of them out. BTW I got pics of the drunken 4 am fender chop on my computer at school so I'll put those up in a day or two. It was good wheelin with ya'll!
here is a pic of slickrock
and for all of you math people...
this
plus
equals this
Wouldn't it have been easier to roll the lip up
Looks like the tire just caught that edge and pulled it down.
Nah, he'd have to trim sooner or later anyways...
Where are the vids and the rest of the pics...
nice trim. show more of your sexy rear bumper.
Wow that ZJ has changed since I last wheeled with it...
just thought i'd throw up a pic of the cb mount. it has since been recessed another couple inches and a switch panel is now taking up the space to the right. I don't need a VIC to tell me if/when I'm in 4LO.
Here is where the antenna is mounted... the tight trails relocated it for me.

is that a black sock next to the cb
Went wheeling this weekend. The pics are on my buddy's camera but he should have them uploaded soon. After trying to keep up with these rigs on some retarted crazy trails I need a new door and rear 1/4 panel. Definatley not something a little touch up paint and bondo will take care of! Here are some pics from the weekend.
And heres the tree I layed my junk into. raar.
