Nice work on the shifter! I think I will do the same thing. Does the shifter move further then when stock? Does it still move within the factory range and not interfere with the bezel around the shifter? How do the letters line up after on the shifter? Probably off?

Yeah, the throw is much further than it used to be. The Bezel no longer fits, so I’m making my own Now it’s no where near done yet but these give you the idea.

The buttons on the left will be the gear indicators in the slot on the left.

I got all the parts back from the powder coater! They came out so well. He did all of these for $40. You can also see in this photo that I added a cross support between the track bar tabs that several of you suggested.

Driver’s side motor mount and track bar bracket.

    Passenger side motor mount.

Here you can see the little s bend I had to add to the track bar to clear the oil pan and differential at full bump.

Here are the transmission cooling lines and temperature sender.

And finally my exhaust pieces came today! I was at the store when my roommate texted me that they were in and I yelled so loud I scared the shit out of this little old man! Look at how small these new cats are compared to the original ones! And to think a couple of days ago I was about to pay someone else to make the exhaust for me…

    I collect Jeeps.

Looking good. What is that shifter bezel made out of? I like the buillt in gauge mount and the gear indicators.

Is your trans temp gauge installed before or after the cooler?
Thank you to those that serve our country.

Thanks, it's made out of 1/4" mdf. The sensor is installed on the outlet from the transmission.

The lesson in building this Jeep has been and continues to be PATIENCE. I spent 8 hours alone today making the y-pipe fit around all the suspension and driveshaft but it's done and it fits perfectly. That being said I ran out of fawking welding gas on both the TIG and MIG so I can start it but it will be straight open headers. We have a surprise birthday for a friend tomorrow so I don't know if I'll have time to fire it up but maybe Sunday.

Here is the y-pipe, it will be painted with hi-temp black exhaust paint before it goes in for the final time.

I picked up a preliminary set of coils from Poly Performance. Since I don't yet know how much this pig weighs, we took a shot in the dark and went with both 14" 200 lbs over 350s.

Here is where the passenger side reservoir will go when I make mounts for it, I haven't figured out the driver's side yet.

    I collect Jeeps.

    You're taking WAY too long

I might have to steal your idea on the shifter bezel.

IT LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! First attempt fired right up, no hesitation! Has good oil pressure. I've still got a ton of small shit to do but for the moment I'm on cloud 9!

I'll post up video tonight once I get the exhaust tightened down and it's not loud as balls.

Werd! Does this thing have like a V8 man...? HAHA bet that guy doesn't survive long here.

Anyways, here is the finished exhaust. It is TIGHT under there.

And finally here is the video of it starting! I'm still waiting for the rear drive shaft to come back and have a mile long list of small things I need to do but hell, it runs!

Thanks a lot guys! Fair enough, fair enough haha. I hit it a lot harder right after that but my roommate had stopped recording apparently. I'll get you a better one tomorrow, I don't need to piss off the whole neighborhood tonight.

Edit: guess that was the second time I started it, not sure what happened to the video where I reved it. Anyways I'll put one up tomorrow.
