Hey Guys...
Anyone found an aftermarket source for the bolts on the front t-case yoke to the double cardan joint? Also would be the same if you have a 231 SYE in the back end.... yoke to double cardan joint.
I found them at the dealer.. part number 6033893 and the specs are .312-24x1.17 (exactly how the dealer guy wrote it down..)
I've heard that the ZJ V8 takes a larger bolt than the 4.0L... but I have shafts from both and they're the same.
Anyhow... anyone found the same bolts from someone like Spicer or something? Just wanna find out before buying from the dealer for $3 each times 8.
Thanks!
not sure on a specific supplier of that length, but otherwise thats a standard 5/16-24 UNF cap screw. You might be able to get some at the hardware store at 1 1/4 length and grind off the excess?
Note:I'm only going off what the dealer told you, I'm not sure of the size.
Aren't they 12 points? 8mm metric head? It has been a while since I have had one in my hand though. For I run 1350's.
I'd call Tom Woods. Order 12 for good measure.
Any driveline store will have them. Spicer makes them, they aren't expensive.
Maybe I'll just get them from Tom Woods when I get them to build my shafts.
So Spicer does make them? Hmm.... haven't been able to find them anywhere yet, but I'll hold off on the panic button until I talk to Tom Woods etc...
Thx
Yup. Hell I'd even have a part # for you if all my stuff wasn't sitting in a warehouse right now.
Mopar part number 6033893 is superseded by part number 6034966
Try an OMIX-ADA dealer S-6034966 = http://www.omix-ada.com/productInfo....emNo=S-6034966
found 'em for 63 cents each (OMIX-ADA dealer price)

Why not use a 5/16-24 x 1 1/8 grade 8 bolt?
I believe the bolts that are used on my drive shafts have a 1/2" 6pt head.
They are flange head and I would guess different hardness then a grade 8 bolt. Kinda the same way you wouldn't use hardware store bolts on a ring gear.
I haven't had an issue with 'em. They do have lock washers on the bolts though.
Even have torn up a few shafts and have not had issue witht he bolts. And they were installed originally by my buddy that has been in the business for over 15 years, so I trust his judgement.
